Algonquin Park | Summer 2016

Algonquin Park is one of the most famous national parks in Canada. It is probably best known around the world for the beautiful coloured leaves in the fall, millions of people have visited and we are blessed to live close by. To me the park holds many childhood memories as a loved yearly (or more often) destination to visit. Driving through the park I remembered the numerous visits my grandparents took my brother and I on, with various family members and friends. Swimming at the beaches, picnics, camping, canoeing, hiking, biking, visiting the sites and watching wildlife. I have been so often it is almost just apart of who I am, I didn’t think about the fact that my kids had yet to see it – to learn about it, and create their own memories there.

Chickens Have Arrived | Family Adventure | Summer 2016

Wednesday was the date set for the chickens’ arrival, we had previously planned and prepared for their coming. The night before Joel made some last minute protection to the coop with some extra wire and thicker boards on the nesting box. Joel happened to be booked away on a class trip with Violet that morning and so that left me alone to get the chickens from the Agro Centre. Thankfully my Aunt Michelle stopped in on her way to get my cousin from school, she offered to drive over with us on the adventure!
