Oh man I am quite a few days behind on our “Week in Review” post! But that is okay, the main thing is keep going, right? That’s the way to form habits – honestly I have no idea, I have not been overly successful in habit forming. This year will be different, new leaves are growing from these branches! All in all, the Duffields had a great week filled with birthdays and fun activities.
Yesterday morning was a typical morning spent checking the grocery shopping chore off my to-do list, for me though the chore is a little thrilling, and almost wrong. This is because for the past few years Joel has refused to let me grocery shop. A house rule created by the fact that when I grocery shop I easily spend fifty (or more) dollars past our budgeted amount. Add a few trips like that into a single month, then over an entire year – our budget would be spiraling out of control. I am picturing a plane nose-diving for earth, smoke filling the air behind it, with absolutely no survivors in the crash landing. Out of family preservation I, Amy-Lynn have been banned from entering the grocery store.
Yesterday was Grandma’s 83rd birthday! We made a plan to go down to wish her a happy birthday after we had a quick dinner.
Today is Poppa’s 89th birthday! The girls made a few cards for him this afternoon, so we decided to take a drive with an ice-cream cake, and helium balloons to wish him a happy birthday! It was a fun memory even though Uncle Jon let the surprise plan out of the bag early.
