Last night was a bit of a wash out. Annaliese continued to complain about her belly aching and she wanted to go to the hospital. I assumed it was the flu and did not really want to go, but in the back of my mind I worried if it wasn’t I would be upset with myself. So after she threw up in the van, we sat forever in the ER waiting, and then came home after bedtime. Thankfully it was not too serious – the flu, or a really quick tummy upset because this morning she woke up saying she was fine.
I am one happy Momma this evening! My aunt came today, she helped at the grocery store this morning, and then this afternoon she helped wrap all of the kids Christmas presents. Which means one less (huge) chore checked off my to-do list. Which is totally awesome considering I am actually a day behind in my advent devotional. I did not realize this yesterday when I posted, I apologize. My mind is gone for a ride on the crazy train, December is a wild wild ride.
The story of Esther is one I have studied in depth while joining in a Bible study by Beth Moore. As I read over the verses in my Bible, Beth’s voice and key points kept coming to mind. There were so many places I wanted to stop and say “highlight this point, or stop at those words.” This book of the Bible has so much more to tell then I have in this post. I tried to shorten and simplify the story into a quick devotional we could read over dinner, but keep the points that stood out to me. I urge you to read this one for yourself in the book of Esther and truly enjoy the story! I have only skimmed the surface of a great book of the Bible. Also if you ever get the chance to be apart of Beth Moore’s study of Esther, jump at it… it was so good!
The week or so before Christmas break always feels like I am on a roller coaster that is going way to fast, and we are about to fly off at the next turn. I don’t know why at the beginning of December I feel like I can take on the world and smash life right out of the park. It never works that way no matter how hard I try. Next year I will try to fill in the pieces and hopefully have a completed piece of work with links to every day in my 24 devotional advent series before it starts!
