This past week was filled with new adventures and some continued routine for the Duffields. Violet and Annaliese resumed their dance classes on both Friday night, and Saturday morning. Violet had her first ‘friend’ birthday party (see pictures from that party here), which went off without a hitch and was so much fun.
The girls had another week at school and the fresh snow made it possible for a couple new winter activities. Annaliese’s class tried cross country skiing during outdoor phys-ed, and Violet’s class went snowshoeing for the first time! Annaliese also came home with a ticket to her first choice in winter electives. She has been very excited about trying gymnastics in February, and I can’t wait to hear all about it.
Thursday marked the first ‘snow’ day for the 2015/2016 school calendar. Joel shoveled out the driveway and took the girls to school himself. They actually came home with cute bright hats, and a tee shirt with their school team/logo on them. Finally starting to feel like winter in Muskoka, fun, fresh, with a good chill in the air (-28 at least once this week)!
Joshua, Hannah, Sam, Ben, and I spent most of the week at home, colouring, making huge messes, and enjoying winter hibernation from the cold outside! Ben has started to shake his head NO when he is sure he doesn’t want to stop an activity, like the bathtub or nursing. Sam is starting (we hope) to sleep longer through the night, making the days a little easier to get through. We are in a good routine of baby naps in the morning, and Josh and Hannah naps in the afternoon. They are like four destructo tornadoes whirling around the house, going through mass amounts of laundry and leave toys everywhere and anywhere! Life is busy, but I wouldn’t want it any other way!
I also made the first handwritten notes in my Journaling Bible (a gift from my birthday in September). For me this is a big step, definitely one I am excited to continue as I grow in my faith walk. I also started a fresh house routine using my old planner, self written planner system. I am trying to use up the days in my old planner to be thrifty and not wasteful, but a new Erin Condren Life Planner might be calling my name loudly!
