Thanks for sticking around anyone or everyone who is still reading our blog and following our videos, or pictures on Instagram. Often throughout the day I say to myself, “I need to write a post” or “I should update the blog” I usually talk myself out of it – it has been far too long who would care at this point. We are still around so why shouldn’t I keep our blog up to date?
This whole year has been a crazy whirl wind, I started out in January thinking I really wanted to work on social media. I thought it would be a great way to keep memories and share with curious others. It is still all those things, but 2016 did not seem the year for us to grow through sharing our life. Instead we took a turn in February from efforts here, and went full steam to growing our home so that my grandparents could move to town. I had hopes of documenting that process, but trying to juggle all of that left me exhausted.
Emotionally I am still recovering from that big change, trying to place all the feelings from the stress of downsizing them, to goodbyes, and filling new roles in our family. Expectations from others (and ourselves) leaving us feeling never quite enough at the end of the day.
So these feelings are exactly why I wanted to start sharing again, to start doing something for me/us that I love doing for no other reason than that – simply because I like to share my thoughts and our life! We are crazy hot messes; kids in diapers who won’t leave clothes on, I am pretty sure I have gained 25lbs this summer, I am way in over my head with commitments that I want out of (why did I ever start saying yes to everything?). I am going to get back on track, and need to break the ice here so I feel comfortable again.
Happy Fall. Its fall, whoot whoot – I finally got around to putting my fall decorations up today.
I realized after I had Joel bring up three large totes – I really do not have much in the way of “fall” specific decor, but don’t you love my new red chicken? Joel and I got her on our weekend trip away together.
