The girls are into using my computer lately, and I have yet to learn to save my posts before leaving my computer for ANY reason. I had a February Update written yesterday ready to go (just needed a picture) and now it is no longer. I need to show them how to properly save mom’s work, and/or how to open a new tab before watching You Tube videos! Oh well.
It is pouring rain today, which is bringing my motivation down a few notches today. Although despite the rain, I have been knocking a few chores of my to-do list this past week. Specifically the ones I have been avoiding for months – like the aloe plant the cats knocked over on Christmas eve. I tend to ignore certain things hoping someone else will do it, knowing full well I am the only one who is actually going to pick the plant up and repot it. The aloe plant is now hanging in the dinning room (minus a few leaves), I hope he survives but after two months of neglect he seemed fairly okay. Sometimes I find with plants though you can ignore them forever and they do well, pay attention to them and they up and die.
I ordered seeds for our 2017 garden a couple of weeks ago. We have some big plans that involve taking the deck off and creating a new garden space this year. When I say “we” I more mean me, but that Joel is coming along for the ride. He has almost gotten to the point where he knows my plans involve destruction, but in the end are usually spot on. I want to try an old method that involves corn, beans, and squash. So along with those seeds I ordered; tomato, pumpkin, basil, and zucchini. I need to start charting on a calendar the dates to start my seedlings, I am overly excited to get growing again!
In my devotional time I have been working my way through a study on the Gospel of Mark by Lisa Harper. I am proud of myself for staying ahead on the homework each week and finishing it up prior to the video session. Something I have been working on for over a year with a close friend – to actually complete the study portion of the Bible study. This session I really feel like I have a handle on it, and I have been gaining insight into a book of the Bible I do not often turn to. I am loving the fast style, and direct way Mark cuts to the chase when sharing the gospel. At this point in my life I feel like that is a good fit – quick, to the point, wham TRUTH.
I cannot believe how quickly February is flying by, but doesn’t it always? March is just around the corner and we will be rushing into the girls’ first competition season. YIKES. Okay, they are super excited and I am a little nervous. I know they will be great and have a good time, I just need to get on that page and stop stressing about whether I will do okay with hair and make up! They each received their new uniforms last week, and they look absolutely adorable representing their dance team.
I hope that covers the same things I touched upon yesterday in my (deleted) update! I would love to hear how your February is going, and what you are up to as winter comes to a close. Yesterday I made my first batch of Kombucha, or maybe I am just beginning by growing my own scoby? I don’t really know what I am doing, but it seems fun and the health benefits are all over Pinterest – so I shall try! Wishing you a happy weekend.
