This past Summer I took numerous trips and full days to help my grandparents (and family) downsize their three-storey home. I learned many a lesson while going through this process. I was in the end renewed with energy to downsize our small home again and let go of anything I was holding onto. Some things became clear life lessons for downsizing and living with intention.
It’s a beautiful October day – I love the feeling of crisp, fresh days. I am happy to be settling into a good school routine with the girls, it seemed we found the groove quickly this year. I signed Josh and Hanny up for gymnastic classes this fall, in the summer I thought it would be a fun activity for them every Tuesday morning. Although, for a mom who prefers to keep everyone contained and at home this gymnastics routine has been a stretch to get up and out the door. I thought I would share quickly a couple of tips I have for how I prepare/leave the house with my youngest four.
Many families (big or small) battle the laundry war, overwhelmed with what feels like an impossible chore. After struggling for a long time, I feel confident claiming we stay on top of our laundry now as a family of eight, more than we ever have before. It isn’t always perfect, and some weeks I fall behind. But knowing it can be done gives me hope, and more often than not I have this chore totally under control.
